Mrs. Dana McKelvy » Welcome

Welcome

Welcome!

I am Mrs. Dana McKelvy.  September 22, 2023, will mark the beginning of my 33rd year as a classroom teacher.  I taught 9 years of elementary school and spent 14 years teaching 7th grade here at EPMS.  This will be my 10th year teaching 8th grade ELA.  I am teaching Standard ELA classes this year--two of them with with Mrs. Mandy Weeks--and will continue teaching Exceptional ELA as well.  I am also the sponsor for National Junior Honor Society.

I am a resident of Bartlett.  My husband Philip and I have been married 29 years.  He retired in May from teaching 6th grade science at Houston Middle School in Germantown.  We have three children, all of whom attended Bartlett schools, including EPMS.  Our oldest, Dhanielle, is 28 now and lives in Southaven, Mississippi, with her husband Brett.  Camryn is 25 and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Memphis in May of 2020, triple majoring in English (with an ESL endorsement), Spanish, and French.  At the moment, she is the assistant manager of Sweet Noshings. Holden is 21 and works the night shift at the FedEx warehouse. We have an almost three-year-old Tennessee Treeing Brindle/Great Pyrenees named Reina and an 11-year-old Brussels Griffon named Rosie that we adopted from the Bartlett Animal Shelter in May of 2020. My son has a calico cat named Gypsy, a black and white cat named Trixie, and an orange tabby cat named Mufasa, so we have quite a pet menagerie at my house!  We have been members of the Bartlett community since the early 90s and really enjoy living and working here.

Our mission here at Elmore Park is to "prepare students for lifelong learning, effective leadership, and a productive life."

We also believe that "taking 100% responsibility while building lasting relationships will produce extraordinary results."  Working together, we can help our young people to reach their highest potential.
