I am Mrs. Dana McKelvy. September 21, 2019, will mark the beginning of my 28th year as a classroom teacher. I taught 9 years of elementary school and spent 14 years teaching 7th grade here at EPMS. This will be my fifth year teaching 8th grade ELA. I am teaching three Standard ELA classes this year--two of them with with Mrs. Mandy Weeks--and will continue teaching Exceptional ELA as well. I am also the sponsor for National Junior Honor Society.
I am a resident of Bartlett. My husband and I have been married for 25 years. He teaches 6th grade science at Houston Middle School in Germantown. We have three children, all of whom attended Bartlett schools, including EPMS. Dhanielle is almost 25 now and lives in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Camryn is 21 and is starting her senior year at the University of Memphis, triple majoring in English (with an ESL endorsement), Spanish, and French. She will be flying to France September 1st, remaining there until December 21st as a Study Abroad student. Holden is 17 and is starting his senior year at Bartlett High. He works for the Bartlett 10 Malco Cinema as a supervisor. We have been members of the Bartlett community since the early 90s and really enjoy living and working here.
Our mission here at Elmore Park is to "prepare students for lifelong learning, effective leadership, and a productive life." We also believe that "taking 100% responsibility while building lasting relationships will produce extraordinary results." Working together, we can help our young people to reach their highest potential.
