Concert Band & Pep Band
Concert Band - General Information
This honor band annually travels to Concert Festival and has the option to go out of town to compete (an optional, additional expense). This band is comprised of auditioned sixth, seventh, and eighth graders. Students that participate in Concert Band must be current members of the band program this year. Also, students that are selected for this group must fulfill all academic and behavioral expectations in all their classes throughout the year to participate.
This band usually rehearses in the band room after school second semester on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 4 until 5:15pm. (We also may begin rehearsing first semester in December this year.) We will also have additional Wednesday practices plus morning practices due to inclement weather, school holidays, and if needed to prepare for the performances. This group does not rehearse during the school day.
Returning seventh and eighth Grade Band students may audition for Concert Band. If additional instruments are needed, Beginning Band students (6th, 7th, or 8th grades) may also be eligible to audition. Concert Band Auditions will be scheduled later. (probably in December) More specific information will be sent home with the students in the future including the permission form to audition for Concert Band.

Pep Band - General Information
The Pep Band is an optional performing group for returning 7th and 8th grade band students that will perform at basketball games. All band students that request to participate in this group must meet academic, behavioral, and attendance expectations for this group, their band class, and other academic classes. Students that participate in the Pep Band must be current members of the band program this year.
This group will rehearse in the band room before school two or three times a week. Practices are before school 7:45-8:45am on select Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays in December/January to prepare for select basketball games. Members will play after school at select basketball games on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at January basketball games. The days of the week for rehearsals will be set for December/January based on the basketball game schedule. We will also have additional practices if needed to prepare for pep rallies or games. Attendance at the morning practices is vital to the success of this group. This group does not rehearse during the school day.
Returning seventh and eighth grade band students will wear school shirts, school colors, and other appropriate school spirit wear for all performances and games. If additional instruments are needed, select Beginning Band students (6th, 7th, or 8th grades) may also be invited to participate. More specific information will be sent home with the students in the future including the permission form to participate in Pep Band.
