Elmore Park Middle School

Meet our new Assistant Principal

Lisa Walker is Elmore Park Middle School’s new assistant principal. Lisa came to Elmore Park Middle with thirteen years of experience with Shelby County Schools. Lisa began her professional career as a sixth grade teacher at Germantown Middle School. After nine years of teaching, she accepted the position of Exemplary Teacher, a roving coaching role that provided support to new and struggling teachers. This position later evolved into PIT Crew (Performance Improvement Team), which took on the responsibility of assisting administrators in evaluating the teachers in their building, as well as, coaching them. While serving in this role, Lisa supported Elmore Park Middle and has worked closely with the faculty to ensure their success in the classroom over the past three years. After serving in this capacity for three years, she was promoted to Instructional Support Analyst, which assisted in supporting the 30 PIT Crew members carry out their role of supporting 200 plus schools in regards to professional development, evaluations, and coaching support in addition to writing and facilitating trainings for district evaluators.

Lisa attended the University of Memphis and received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. After a few years of teaching, she returned to school at Union University to obtain a Master’s degree in education. In 2013, she obtained her administrator’s endorsement from Freed-Hardeman University. Lisa is married and has three children. Her daughter attends Donelson Elementary School and will be a first grader this year, while her identical twin three-year-old boys attend Macon Road Baptist Pre-K 3.

Lisa believes “a good leader inspires people to have confidence in their leader, a great leader inspires people to have confidence in themselves.” She credits her success in the educational profession to working alongside great leaders who have inspired her. She feels fortunate to have the opportunity to be part of the Elmore Park family and looks forward to continuing her journey under the leadership of Ethan Randall, principal at Elmore Park Middle and the leaders of Bartlett City Schools.
